FAQs

  • Death Doulas, also called end of life doulas, are non-medical professionals who bring emotional, practical, and unbiased support and expertise to individuals and families who are planning for the final stages of life.

    Death Doulas:

    • Bring invaluable knowledge about the dying process.

    • Provide comfort and compassion to the dying and their family members.

    • Foster open conversations about death and ensure an individual’s wishes and dignity are honored.

    • Complement the work of the family and other caregivers, including hospice providers.

Ultimately, we strive to help individuals live fully until the very last moment.

  • Anytime

You can contact a death doula at any stage when you or a loved one is navigating the end of life process, or even earlier, to prepare for it. If a terminal diagnosis has been received, I recommend reaching out as soon as possible so we can begin creating quality care plans together.

  • Hospice:

    • Provide an invaluable interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, social workers, clergy, and more.

    • Administer medications, manages physical symptoms, and ensures comfort under a medical model of care.

    Death Doulas:

    • Complement hospice care by focusing on holistic, non-medical needs.

    • Work together with the hospice team to enhance the personalized care experience and bridging gaps that hospice services may not address due to time constraints.

    • Do not provide medical interventions or administer treatments.

  • I do not offer medical or legal services and I do not take the place of licensed therapists.

  • Services can be offered in person: at home, in the hospital, assisted living, or nursing home. I’m currently serving areas of Northern Massachusetts & Southern New Hampshire. Services are also offered virtually.

  • Pricing for all end of life services are often crafted in specific bundles depending on your unique needs but start at $75/hour.
